Lindsey Vonn Reveals She Was Bullied Into Becoming ‘Lean’ After Getting Shamed For Her Strong Body

Skiing legend Lindsey Vonn is revealing how since retiring from the sport, she’s become more lean after being body shamed for how muscular she once was.

To be an Olympic gold medal winning professional skier with 82 World Cup wins, Lindsey Vonn‘s body was a machine. But that meant that she had to maintain incredibly strong muscles — especially in her backside and legs — to be a champion in her sport. The 36-year-old  — who retired from competing in 2019 — is now revealing how she used to be shamed for her strong and fit body, especially when it came to her fashion choices and how they fit her athletic figure.

During her competitive skiing days, Lindsey would still make red carpet appearances and get glam for the ESPYs, the Met Gala, and other events. “A lot of people have said, ‘You shouldn’t wear things like that. It doesn’t look good on your body type.’ Or ‘You’re too muscular for that,’” when it came to her fashion decisions. “I’m not going to say who, but I’ve had a lot of people say not such nice things to me,” the former Olympian reveals in a new interview with New York Post’s Alexa magazine.

Now that she’s no longer skiing competitively, Lindsey works out three times a week doing a mix of cardio and strength with her personal trainer to the stars Gunnar Peterson. As a result, Lindsay now has an entirely different body than she ever had before, as she had been skiing competitively nearly all of her life.

“I’m a lot leaner,” Lindsey reveals. “I used to do things that were so sport specific, so I had to be bigger. But everyone is like, ‘Oh my God, you’re in the best shape of your life.’ It’s like — yes and no. I’m not training for my sport anymore, I am training to be lean and fit.” The women’s skiing GOAT says that nowadays, “I’m just working out to keep my knee strong and feel good.” Lindsey frequently posts her workouts to her Instagram, such as the video below from Mar. 3, 2021:

Lindsey has revealed in the past how her competitive athlete body make her feel awkward on red carpets or at Hollywood events. In a Nov. 2020 interview with Access Hollywood, the blonde beauty shared that she had serious body image issues due to having to stand next to and pose alongside tiny sample-size starlets.

‘I had a lot of anxiety and body image issues when I came on the red carpet because I was, you know, 30, 40, 50 pounds heavier than everyone that I was standing next to,” Lindsey revealed to AccessKit Hoover. It even went on to affect her competitive skiing ability. “There were definitely moments where I sacrificed a bit of my skiing career, especially after the Olympics. I lost weight because I felt like I needed to fit in and that cost me World Cup wins, that cost me an overall title,” she admitted.

Even in Lindsey’s heyday of ruling the slopes she still was very body conscious, but was more outwardly confident. “I definitely don’t fit in on the red carpet. I’m like twice the size of anyone, in both height and weight! I’m five-foot-ten, but I’m definitely quite a bit heavier than everyone else,” she shared in a Nov. 2015 Health magazine profile. She proudly added, “I feel like the odd man out sometimes, but that’s even more reason to be confident, to show girls that you don’t have to be a size 2 to be beautiful. Any size is beautiful as long as you’re confident in yourself.” Now that’s a positive message!

Chrissy Teigen Deletes Her Twitter Account After Admitting It ‘No Longer Served’ Her ‘Positively’

Chrissy Teigen said her Twitter fans have ‘been her world’ but that it was ‘time to say goodbye’ before deleting her account.

Chrissy Teigen is saying goodbye to Twitter! The 35-year-old confessed the social media platform “no longer served” her “positively” on Wednesday, March 24 — then deleted her verified account. “Hey. For over 10 years, you guys have been my world. I honestly owe so much to this world we have created here. I truly consider so many of you my actual friends,” she wrote.

“But it’s time for me to say goodbye. This no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that’s the right time to call something,” the Cravings author went on. “I’ve always been portrayed as the strong clap back girl but I’m just not. My desire to be liked and fear of pissing people off has made me somebody you didn’t sign up for, and a different human than I started out here as!” she explained. “I encourage you to know and never forget that your words matter. No matter what you see, what that person portrays, or your intention. For years I have taken so many small, 2-follower count punches that at this point, I am honestly deeply bruised,” she also wrote.

“I have made my mistakes, throughout years and in front of hundreds of thousands, and been held accountable for them. I’ve learned an incredible amount here…God I have said f—– up s— and killed myself over it as much as you killed me. But one thing I haven’t learned is how to block out the negativity,” she concluded with a “<3.” After her heartbreaking miscarriage last fall, Chrissy also confirmed she was taking a “break” from Twitter.

While Chrissy has become known for her online humor — particularly hilarious tweets — she has also had her fair share of drama on social media. She was notoriously blocked from President Donald Trump‘s account after calling him out (and was later unblocked from the @POTUS account when Joe Biden was elected), but has also had feuds with Piers Morgan and food writer Alison Roman, who is the author of NYT best seller Nothing Fancy & Dining In.

Alison seemingly blasted Chrissy for having “people running a content farm for her” and launching a Target line in June 2020, leading Chrissy to clap back. “This is a huge bummer and hit me hard,” Chrissy responded. “I have made her recipes for years now, bought the cookbooks, supported her on social and praised her in interviews. I even signed on to executive produce the very show she talks about doing in this article.” At the time, the wife of John Legend also took her account private.

The Challenge’s Melinda Stolp Suffers A Heartbreaking Miscarriage: ‘We Are Devastated’

Melinda Stolp sadly suffered a miscarriage five months into her pregnancy. ‘The Challenge’ alum detailed the painful experience of having to deliver her daughter.

“To think back on the last 48 hours, I could just scream. The hurt, the sadness, the pain, the questioning, and for what?” Melinda Stolp wrote to begin a heartbreaking announcement. The 37-year-old mother, who competed on multiple seasons of The Challenge, learned that she had suffered a miscarriage three and a half weeks before sharing the news on March 24.

“4 weeks ago I had a checkup and she [Melinda and husband Matt Collins‘ daughter] had a strong heart and everything was going along fine,” Melinda, who was five months pregnant when she lost her baby, explained in the Instagram post. She continued, “Over the next couple of weeks, I had started noticing that I wasn’t feeling her move as much, but I kept chasing away those worries.”

Melinda then revealed that she discovered their second child “was gone” after attending her 20-week anatomy ultrasound. The MTV alum wrote that “no woman” or man should “have to go through this pain,” which for Melissa, didn’t end when she learned the awful news. The Challenge star still had to deliver her baby.

“Yesterday I had to deliver her… I had to endure the pain of contractions and a full delivery to my precious baby girl and then not be able to take her home with us,” Melinda sadly revealed, and the reality television star continued to share that she and her husband are now “devastated.”

However, Melinda still cherished the fact that she and her husband are already the parents of their one-year-old son, Camden. “I have had the opportunity to have three pregnancies. Luckily one of those produced a beautiful healthy baby, who truly is the light of our lives,” she wrote.

The grieving mother also pointed out how common miscarriages really are. “When looking at statistics, women lose 1 in 5 pregnancies. That number is astounding to me. I don’t drink alcohol, I don’t smoke, I don’t do any drugs, I’m active, I took my vitamins, drank my water, talked to her, had little stress, laughed a lot, took walks cut out caffeine… and still none of that worked,” Melina wrote in her announcement, which you can read in full above.

The Challenge announced her pregnancy in Feb. 2021. At the time, Melinda shared the news with an ultrasound photo and revealed the baby was expected to arrive in Aug. 2021.

Like Melinda pointed out, many women have sadly suffered miscarriages — celebrities as well. Meghan Markle, Chrissy Teigen, Carrie Underwood, Beyoncé, Gwyneth Paltrow and many more stars have been open about their pregnancy losses, so Melinda is very much not alone. We send our condolences to Melinda and her family.

Rihanna Reveals She May Release A New Song ‘Soon’ & Fans Go Wild: ‘Finally’

Rihanna once again teased a 9th album on Instagram! The singer took to Instagram to celebrate album ‘Anti’ still being on the Billboard 200 chart for 5 years.

Rihanna fans have been patiently waiting for a ninth album, and the 33-year-old just teased that she could be dropping some new tunes shortly! It all started when the singer took to Instagram to celebrate an incredible and historic milestone for her last album, Anti, which came out in Jan. 2016. Her eighth album has now spent a record-breaking five years on the Billboard 200 chart, making her the first Black artist to ever hit the goal. She posted the news as well as a compilation video from her tour to celebrate.

“Grateful to the most High for putting die hard supporters in my circle… #Anti #WomensHistoryMonth
congrats to everyone that contributed to this era, thank you team,” she wrote. Fans flooded her comment section with applause, with one writing, “celebrate by releasing a new song!!” The post didn’t go unnoticed by the Savage x Fenty designer, writing, “I think I should” then “just 1 tho lol.” Over 700 followers liked and commented back, begging her not to “tease” them. “Girl u betta,” and “pleaseeeee drop the album,” others pleaded.

This isn’t the first time RiRi — who just bought a new $13.8 million Beverly Hills mansion — has teased R9. “I can’t wait to put something out that I’m really proud of and excited about,” she said to Access back in July 2020, shortly after the drop of her Fenty Skin line. “It probably is gonna be sooner than my fans think, but I’m just gonna leave that alone because I got enough stress, questions and, ‘R9, when’s the album coming…they don’t leave me alone!” she added.

She also revealed she felt a similar pressure from her fans — a.k.a the Rihanna Navy — before dropping Anti (prior to that, fans had been waiting four years from the release of 2012’s Unapologetic). “My fans, they want it and they want it now,” she went on. “And I remember this specifically when I was making Anti. It was my first day in the studio, first day, which is like, you’re still really early in the discovery stages, right. A paparazzi caught me going into the studio and after that, they thought my album was coming out that week,” she recalled.

Early on in Rihanna’s career, she dropped her albums back-to-back: Music of the Sun dropped in 2005, quickly followed up by 2006’s A Girl Like Me — spawning smash hit “SOS.” 2007 brought on a whole new year with “Umbrella” and Good Girl Gone Bad. Her next four albums, Rated R, Loud, Talk That Talk, and Unapologetic all dropped consecutively from 2009 – 2012, with a four year gap before Anti.

Of course, Rihanna has been busy with several other business ventures in recent years with the successful launch of Fenty Beauty and Skin, as well as Savage X Fenty lingerie. Rihanna also fronted the first new LVMH clothing line, Fenty, in years — but the house was recently announced to be on hiatus. “In the past, I’d shoot out an album in three months, but now, I don’t have the luxury of doing that because I have other baby,” Rihanna also said to Access, referencing her other ventures.
